## Short answer

The PDF Metadata Editor by PdfPixels lets you view and change a PDF’s title, author, subject, and keywords online. Upload the file, edit the properties, and download the updated PDF for free.

## About

PDF Metadata Editor shows the document properties embedded in your PDF — title, author, subject, and keywords — and lets you rewrite them in place. Clean metadata makes files searchable inside document systems, presents professional titles in browser tabs and email previews, and replaces leaked personal information (an author’s real name, an internal file path) before external distribution. Edits run on our servers; the visual content of the PDF is untouched.

## Key features

## FAQ

### What is PDF metadata?

Document-level properties stored inside the file — typically title, author, subject, keywords, creation dates, and the producing application. Readers and search tools display them.

### Does editing metadata change how the PDF looks?

No. Page content, layout, and images are untouched — only the document properties change.

### Can I clear the author field completely?

Yes — leave the field empty to remove it. For deep privacy scrubbing of all metadata at once, use Sanitize PDF.

### Is PDF Metadata Editor free?

Yes, free with no signup. Fair-use rate limits apply.
